POSITION SUMMARY

Understands how products are manufactured and tested, including stock products and special products. Helps determine testing procedures. Updates production stations to ease operators' workload while maintaining efficiency. Helps maintain current test equipment. Designs and builds new test equipment as needed. Recommends procedures or equipment to minimize operator errors when testing products on the production lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Possesses full knowledge of existing products.
  • Understands how product is manufactured, including customer specials.
  • Interfaces with Operations to determine production feasibility.
  • Updates production workstations through continuous improvement.
  • Designs and builds test equipment.
  • Designs and maintains control of all test processes
  • Recommends improvements and cost savings.
  • Helps with the design of custom equipment and fixtures

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with PLCs, test equipment, electronics, and electromechanical devices.
  • Extensive refrigeration knowledge preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Some machining knowledge preferred.
  • Strong communication and team skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Understanding of certifying agencies (UL, NSF, CSA, ARI)
  • Self starter
  • Little travel involved, mostly just occasional travel between the Savanna and Lanark plants.
  • There will be extensive time spent on the plant floor, as issues arise where troubleshooting is required, etc.

Salary Range: The compensation range(s) identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on a variety of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range. The salary range for this position is $43,000 - $53,600.
