Senior Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineering Consultant
Zurich is seeking a Sr Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer. The ideal location for this qualified individual is the Chicago area. This is a field role with approximately 20-25% overnight travel. This is a work from home role and includes a company car.
As a Sr Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer you are responsible for:
- Providing jurisdictional inspections and machinery breakdown risk assessment services for customers and business partners.
- Providing intermediate machinery breakdown consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and hazard/machinery breakdown management programs.
- Providing basic level training for customers, service design and coordination, marketing, and loss investigations.
- Providing Account Engineering and coordination services to the Chicago and Cleveland based underwriting team.
- Supporting the Machinery Breakdown Sales and Marketing team.
Final candidates will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle record background check, because this position includes a company car.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering and Safety area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience within Boiler and Machinery in the Risk Engineering and Safety area OR Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 6 or more years of experience within the Boiler and Machinery Risk Engineering and Safety area AND Working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge within the boiler and machinery industry segment
- Advanced experience in the assessment of risk, based on what is required by Machinery Breakdown specific competency standards
- National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission Card
- Navy Nuclear School
- Insurance industry experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word)
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Experience working in a team environment
At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. In compliance with local laws, Zurich commits to providing a fair and reasonable compensation range for each role. The proposed salary range for this position is $98,300.00 - $161,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
