Zurich Canada is currently looking for a DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining our applications and infrastructure on cloud platform. You will also collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our systems.
Reporting to the Release and Deployment Manager, you will work as a DevOps expert with a deep understanding of cloud-native technologies and automation. You have a proven track record of implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in large-scale environments, and you are passionate about driving efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement. You excel at collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software at scale.

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo, Terraform, Bitbucket, Nexus OSS, SonarQube, Veracode, HashiCorp Vault, Azure DevOps and Prisma Container Security.
• Develops automation of software builds and deployments.
• Manages application documentation libraries and source code repositories.
• Maintains application & source code versions and promotes approved applications to test and production environments.
• Develops processes to support the deployment and maintenance of new applications.
• Provision, configure, and monitor AWS infrastructure using Terraform and AWS services such as ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, Redis, etc.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment, and operations.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices using tools such as SonarQube, Veracode and Prisma Container Security.
• Document and maintain technical specifications, processes, and procedures.
• Support and advice on the code development of DevSecOps platforms for Onprem/cloud hosted applications
• Build/manage DevSecOps standards, and branching strategies.
• Project pipeline development, identifying security concerns, and setting the cloud CI/CD for active projects utilizing DevSecOps.
• Responsible for integrating specialized tools for DevOps Security
• Must be familiar with Azure, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, as well as the proper use of development/antifactory tools such as GitHub, JIRA, Jfrog and Azure Devops.
• Creating the standard templates for various cloud services and manager/maintain with the security guardrails.
• Github Enterprise Team configurations, repository access runners
• Jfrog repository configurations, access controls
• Automation of Docker image generation process and enforcement of keeping base images with update security patches.
• Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Computer Science, Database, Engineering, or Programming area.
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Computer Science, Database, Engineering, or Programming area.
Preferred:
• Extensive experience in DevOps, with a focus on cloud environments, particularly Azure or AWS.
• Insurance Industry Experience • Strong conflict resolution skills. • Organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, Ansible, and Docker.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and ECS.
• Experience in automating infrastructure and application deployments using IaC tools.
• DevOps (Expert Level Operational Knowledge) - AWS Code Build, AWS CloudFormation
