DevOps Engineering - ZP2

You will contribute to building and maintaining the cloud infrastructure supporting our key applications and services, encompassing both commercial and government environments. Your primary focus will be on enhancing efficiency and reliability through automation, utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and scripting (Python, Go, or Bash) to minimize repetitive tasks. You will partner with Development and QA teams to ensure smooth, secure, and scalable releases via CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab CI). This role provides a significant chance to drive automation across Zoom's engineering organization.

You'll join the Zoom Phone ZCX web operations team, focused on automating and scaling infrastructure for key services like Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center. Our mission centers on high-impact automation to reduce manual work and manage the expansion of our environments, particularly for both commercial and government sectors. We collaborate closely with development engineering and QA teams to streamline deployments and ensure platform stability.

Responsibilities

• Building, maintaining, and supporting AWS-based infrastructure for multiple environments.
• You'll deploy, operate, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters.
• Managing infrastructure using Terraform and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
• Writing automation scripts and tooling to reduce manual tasks and operational toil.
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and testing.
• Collaborating with development and QA teams to ensure smooth releases and reliable environments.
• Monitoring system health, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Participating in occasional incident response and post-mortem reviews.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on DevOps or Cloud Engineering experience
• Need to have background with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, etc.)
• Demonstrate experience with Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting.
• Have solid knowledge of Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Be proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, or Go)
• Possess a familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Be comfortable working in a collaborative, hybrid environment (onsite 2 days per week in San Jose)

Salary Range or On Target Earnings: Minimum:

$87,600.00

Maximum:

$186,000.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value. Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
