About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Presales Solution Architect to support a tier-1 investment bank's post-trade transformation initiatives. This is a highly technical client-facing role, responsible for designing complex post-trade solutions, integrating AI/ML capabilities, and leveraging cloud-native architectures.

You'll work closely with our sales team, providing deep technical expertise and personally creating all solution artefacts – including architectures, presentations, and workshop materials. This is not a sales or strategy-only role – it's for a true technologist who enjoys building content, running workshops, and shaping modern post-trade ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design integrated post-trade solutions using FIS GMI and ION XTP within complex banking environments.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions and workshops with tier-1 investment bank stakeholders.
  • Personally develop all technical materials – including architectures, design documents, and presentations.
  • Architect AI/ML use cases for trade surveillance, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Design and build cloud solutions primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with exposure to AWS, Azure, and Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Develop effort estimates, resource plans, and technical documentation to support sales and delivery engagements.

Technical Expertise

Platforms & Architecture

  • FIS GMI (derivatives clearing), ION XTP (post-trade processing)
  • GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Anthos) and Red Hat OpenShift
  • Event streaming technologies (Kafka, Solace), microservices, and API design
  • Clearing house connectivity (LCH, Eurex, CME, ICE)

AI/ML Knowledge

  • Architect AI use cases (anomaly detection, process automation) – not model-building
  • Experience with GenAI for regulatory and document processing
  • Understanding of ML platforms such as Vertex AI and SageMaker from an architecture standpoint

Experience & Domain Knowledge

  • 6–10 years of solution architecture experience in capital markets, ideally within tier-1 investment banks.
  • Deep expertise across post-trade functions – clearing, settlement, collateral, and prime brokerage.
  • Proven track record working through long, complex sales cycles with demanding institutional clients.
  • A hands-on content creator who builds their own materials rather than delegating.

Core Skills

  • Exceptional workshop facilitation and whiteboarding skills.
  • Expert-level proficiency in PowerPoint and technical documentation.
  • Ability to translate complex architectures into business value propositions.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and confidence when engaging with clients.

What This Role Isn't

  • Not a pure strategy or advisory position – this is a hands-on technical role.
  • Not a sales job – you support sales through deep technical leadership.
  • Not coding day-to-day – but you must understand modern software development.
  • Not a delegation role – you personally produce all deliverables.

Practical Details

  • Travel: 0–3 times per month to client sites.
  • Team: Part of the Presales function, supporting multiple sales executives.
  • Location: Hybrid (EU).
