Title: Growth Marketing Manager - Schools
Location: London - Oval (Hybrid - 4 days per week in office)
Salary: £42,000 - £52,000 per annum
Hi, I'm Ahmed, VP of Marketing at Zen Educate. I'm hiring for a key role in my team to work in our schools marketing function - someone who understands how to drive school growth, work closely with sales, and build the automation and scalable systems that will help us sustainably scale across the UK (and eventually the US)!
This isn't a role where the playbook is brand new - we have a structure and plan - but it needs refinement and iteration. You'll work on that strategy while rolling up your sleeves to execute it and build the systems and automations that make it efficient.
The team is lean, so we need someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is comfortable building while doing.
You'll be responsible for marketing to schools and helping with sales enablement across the regions we operate in - driving leads, improving conversion, and increasing our presence in the marketplace. Your work will directly influence how schools see Zen, and whether they choose to work with us.
Here's what I value:
Execution eats strategy for breakfast. You take ownership and are structured and thoughtful - but not afraid to ship fast and learn by doing.
Systematic thinking with a focus on automation. You build processes and automation that scale, improve efficiency, and reduce manual work - always considering the broader org, especially sales.
Customer-first mindset. You ask the right questions and approach your work through the lens of the schools we serve.
Collaborative mindset. You'll work closely with stakeholders across sales, operations, and regional teams - so clear communication and alignment are key.
If you're excited to play a critical part of Zen's UK growth, make an impact fast, and help define how we position ourselves to schools - I'd love to hear from you.
What we're building and why:
Getting the right teacher into the right school at the right time is a real-world problem worth solving - for the education system, for children, and for the long-term sustainability of school staffing.
Since launching in 2017, we've saved schools over £30 million. In 2024, we closed the largest EdTech round in Europe and are expanding rapidly in both the UK and US.
To keep growing in the UK, we need to reach more schools, strengthen our brand, and create scalable, automated systems that support a high-performing sales team — that's where you come in.
What you'll actually do:
1. Scale the systems:
Build and improve how we track MQLs and SQLs and share them with sales in a scalable, efficient way — using AI and automation where possible.
Support on creating clearer structures for planning, executing, and aligning on marketing activity with sales teams.
Build flexible processes that can adapt to regional differences in messaging, campaigns, and sales needs.
2. Drive school growth and lead acquisition:
Build on the school marketing strategy and campaign calendar — and use it to drive growth in schools across the UK.
Run multi-channel campaigns across email, events, paid, and social to generate high-quality leads.
Ensure marketing-generated leads are converting by working closely with sales to improve handoffs, follow-ups, and lead quality.
You'll also own experimentation with other channels like events — from offsites to webinars — with support from the sales team.
3. Improve conversion and positioning:
Improve awareness, interest, and conversion through better messaging, stronger content, and targeted campaigns.
Own sales enablement materials and tools — including case studies, testimonial content, battlecards, and regionalised messaging guidance.
Why this role is unique:
You'll play a critical part in the growth engine for the schools side of our marketplace — in a high-impact, high-visibility role.
You'll contribute to the full marketing funnel for schools in the UK — from awareness through to handover to sales.
You'll work closely with sales leaders and regional teams — and have a direct impact on revenue and adoption.
You will need to test, build, and iterate — in a company that values speed and real-world results.
What makes you a great fit:
You're a structured, hands-on marketer who balances planning with doing.
You've worked closely with sales before and know how to drive alignment and shared goals.
You're motivated by automation and building scalable, efficient processes that reduce manual work.
You can juggle competing priorities across teams, geographies, and segments without losing focus.
You're motivated by outcomes — not just MQL volume, but actual business impact.
You love solving messy problems and can build from scratch.
You care about working in a mission-driven company with real-world impact.
What won't work here:
You want structure handed to you.
We have a starting point, but it needs significant rework. This role is about evolving the strategy and building scalable systems — not following a fully mapped-out plan.
You prefer strategy over execution.
This role is hands-on. You'll be setting up automation, running campaigns, refining messaging, and reviewing performance. We don't have layers of specialists — you'll be doing most of it yourself.
You don't like context switching.
You'll move between tactical delivery, big-picture planning, team syncs, and cross-functional collaboration — often in the same day. If that sounds more chaotic than energising, it might not be for you.
You need lots of support to get started.
We're a lean team. There's no content studio, no analytics pod, no dedicated designers for every campaign. You'll need to take the lead and drive things forward independently.
