Startup Marketing Manager

As the Startup Marketing Manager you will play a pivotal role in elevating Zendesk for Startups' presence by delivering targeted, valuable content and digital campaigns that educate startups on our product capabilities and support scalable CX growth. You will own an end-to-end content and digital marketing strategy aligned with Zendesk's startup positioning to engage startups at every stage—from top-of-funnel awareness to onboarding nurture and sales enablement.
We're looking for a strategic marketer and creative storyteller who deeply understands startup audiences and can lead integrated marketing programs that accelerate global startup acquisition, activation, and loyalty.
What You'll Be Doing
- Refine and articulate a clear, compelling value proposition and messaging that shows why startups should choose Zendesk's scalable, flexible, AI-driven CX platform.
- Own and develop the global startup content strategy to engage startups across all stages—from awareness to onboarding nurture and sales enablement. This includes onboarding content, customer success stories, thought leadership, product positioning, production/solution content, industry reports, newsletters, and SEO-optimized content across mixed media (written, video, podcasts).
- Collaborate closely with product marketing, performance marketing, and regional partner teams to create content aligned with startup needs and evolving market trends.
Organic Social Media Planning & Implementation
- Develop and execute the organic social media strategy to engage, grow, and nurture startup communities worldwide as part of the global content plan.
- Produce, manage, and schedule regular social content primarily on LinkedIn to build brand affinity and community involvement, with plans to expand to platforms like Reddit.
- Respond to community interactions and track social metrics to continuously optimize engagement and reach.
- Coordinate social campaigns with paid media efforts for cohesive messaging and maximum impact.
Digital Campaign Management
- Plan, launch, and optimize global paid media campaigns (search, social, retargeting, ABM) to drive startup acquisition and activation.
- Manage agency/vendor relationships, providing strategic guidance and overseeing creative assets and targeting.
- Analyze campaign performance to improve ROI and scale successful tactics.
- Oversee paid campaign budgets, timelines, and cross-team coordination.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Global Execution
- Partner closely with regional teams to ensure localized relevance, translation, and efficient campaign rollouts.
- Drive alignment and integration with cross-functional marketing teams to embed startup messaging and stories into global industry reports, marketing campaigns, and other initiatives.
What You'll Bring
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of relevant work experience in digital marketing, content strategy, startup marketing, or related roles, preferably within B2B SaaS, CX, or technology industries.
- Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive content and digital marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, and pipeline growth.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with experience creating tailored content for startup and B2B audiences.
- Ability to create and manage multi-format content, including written articles, video scripts, and podcasts.
- Experience managing organic social media channels, including content calendars, community management, and performance tracking.
- Experience managing paid media campaigns, working directly or through agencies, with a focus on acquisition and ROI optimization.
- Competence using marketing and analytics tools such as Tableau, Google Analytics, or similar platforms to measure and improve campaign performance.
- Excellent project management skills, capable of juggling multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across global teams and time zones.
- Passion for startups, innovation, and technology-driven growth.
Nice to haves:
- Experience as a founder, at an accelerator or in venture capital.
- Direct experience working with venture capital firms, accelerators, or startup incubators.
- Hands-on experience with Zendesk products, CRM tools (Salesforce, Airtable), or startup-focused GTM motions.
- Exposure to global markets and cultural nuances within startup ecosystems across different regions.
The US annualized base salary range for this position is $124,000.00-$186,000.00. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives. While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other factors such as work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only (or OTE for commissions based roles), and do not include bonus, benefits, or related incentives.
