Director Of Housing & Survivor Services

YWCA Dayton, dedicated to the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, seeks a dedicated person to be an integral part of the team. The Director Of Housing & Survivor Services is a strategic and compassionate leader responsible for overseeing shelter and housing programs designed to support survivors of domestic violence. This role focuses on implementing effective processes across housing and shelter services to enhance client outcomes, foster cross-departmental collaboration, and strengthen strategic partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate systems and processes to improve service delivery and client outcomes across shelter and housing programs.
  • Ensure programs are trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and aligned with best practices in domestic violence services.
  • Monitor program performance metrics and use data to inform continuous improvement.

Staff Supervision & Development:

  • Supervise and support shelter and housing program managers and staff.
  • Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, empathy, and collaboration.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Lead initiatives that promote integration and coordination between departments to streamline services and improve client experiences.
  • Facilitate regular interdepartmental meetings and communication to ensure alignment of goals and practices.

Strategic Partnerships & Community Engagement:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and resource access.
  • Represent the organization in coalitions, task forces, and public forums related to housing and domestic violence.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, grant requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Prepare and submit reports, proposals, and evaluations as required by funders and leadership.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams.
  • Deep understanding of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed care, and shelter operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to improve program outcomes.
  • Collaborative leadership style that fosters teamwork, transparency, and cross-functional cooperation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, especially in complex and evolving service environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams through change with empathy and clarity.
  • Proficiency in program evaluation, outcome measurement, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive service delivery.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in Non-Profit Administration, Organizational Leadership, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a non-profit setting, preferably in domestic violence or housing services; or 7 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in program management, staff supervision, and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
