YTHS is looking for a psychiatry or child psychiatry specialist to work at one of their eastern service points in Kuopio, Jyväskylä, Mikkeli, or Joensuu starting in November 2025. The position is permanent and full-time or part-time according to your preference. You can suggest the suitable start date, weekly working hours, and duration of employment. The job can be done remotely, from a service point, or in a hybrid model.
Our clientele is pleasant and committed to their care. Your work will impact the future of university students, and you will play a significant role in ensuring their academic success. The treatment of mental health issues involves a multidisciplinary team including general practitioners, psychiatric nurses, nurses, and psychologists. You will also have access to a nationwide network of experienced psychiatry specialists.
It would be a great advantage if you have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. The Acute patient information system we use is user-friendly and easy to learn.
Students are referred to the psychiatry department usually by a general practitioner when treatment by a psychiatric nurse or psychologist and a general practitioner has not been sufficient and a specialist assessment is required at a basic level. Based on research results, the psychiatrist will develop a treatment and rehabilitation plan with the necessary statements. Psychiatrists also perform other consultation work by answering questions from general practitioners and teams.
