Under the coordination of the Senior Manager: Y Products, and in collaboration with the Yokogawa Business Units, Product Specialists and Internal Sales Teams, contribute to the Sales strategy to secure increased growth and profitability for the company in the sales area of responsibility, utilizing a customer centric approach.
Maximise business opportunity for the company and achieve the required business growth through realisation of allocated targets and active engagement in measurable sales related activities.
Represent and promote Yokogawa's full portfolio of Products, Solutions and Services in one's allocated sales area.
Fully understand and align oneself with Yokogawa's Goals, Mission and Objectives.
Fully acquaint oneself with the internal YMA processes, particularly those directly affecting sales activities.
Contribute to the well-being of the company by maintaining positive working relations with colleagues and members of support structures.
Familiarise oneself with and display a solid understanding of Yokogawa full range of Products, Solutions and Services.
Be fully informed about the functions, capabilities and work processes of all business units within the Yokogawa affiliate.
Execution of the Front Sales Engineer Plan as outlined in the Mission Review Statement and achievement of the key performance indicators outlined therein.
Be well acquainted with and regularly informed about activities, developments, opportunities and threats affecting ones designated sales area.
Carry out SWOT analyses on major customer base while taking into consideration competitor activities in ones designated sales area.
Be responsible for the achievement of the total budget (consolidated across all Yokogawa Business Units allocated to ones sales area).
Report to the Senior Manager: Y Products monthly or as required on business activities, areas of growth and concern. Carry out, in addition to day-to-day sales activities, any tasks as deemed necessary by the Senior Manager: Y Products and respond positively to any other reasonable request pertaining to the job.
Be involved in and coordinate to the appropriate extent all Yokogawa sales and promotional activities within ones area to maintain consistency and effectiveness.
Maintain the CRM(YODA) database to regularly reflect accurately all business activities within ones area including: New Opportunity entry and qualification (technical evaluation, feasibility) of such. Forecasting of appropriately designated opportunities so as to provide an accurate projection of order intake on a monthly basis, or as requested by the Senior Manager: Y Products. Updating opportunities with a won-lost status. Updating the status of assigned tasks (calls, visits, pending actions, communication and sales process tracking).
Notifying the relevant parties of opportunities where RFQ's are anticipated and notifications of any duplication thereof. Identify, engage and qualify opportunities as early as possible in the project life-cycle. Disseminate information to relevant parties to facilitate preparation and availability of necessary sales resources (demos, presentations, Product Specialists both local and global and Specialist resources for promotion and spec-in activities).
Maintain rapport with customers through continuous touch-time throughout all phases of the project life cycle. Assist internal proposals teams in compilation of technically sound proposals. Continuously follow up and endeavour to close opportunities as listed above, while harnessing any product/service based support as required.
Play a consultative role in providing area/customer based information to the Marketing department to facilitate objective product and solution promotion. Complete Customer Satisfaction reports as required so as to leverage off positive feedback and facilitate proactive handling of customer concerns.
Keep up to date with relevant market performance and competitor activities so as to dynamically evolve ones sales approach. Promote the full range of Yokogawa Products and Services. Maintain customer rapport to pave way for future relations and comprehensively reflect Yokogawa values at all times.
Proactively cooperate with Major Account Managers and participate in MA initiatives within the territory. Proactively work with EPC Front Sales by communicating and sharing information regarding EPC project opportunities within the territory.
Follow-up all quotations timeously and on an ongoing basis, and maintain accurate records as required. Practice and perform proficient approved company and product presentations to customers utilising the available tools i.e. Power Point presentations, Demo equipment, and Marketing collateral. Where necessary perform first line/basic service support to customers at your discretion and in collaboration with the Service department.
Control loan and demo stock according to procedures. Obtaining orders in good time where the customer wishes to keep loaned items or returning items in good order. Participate as a member of the sales team in the pursuit of its business activities especially at sales meetings, training sessions, shows and conferences.
Professionalism and projection of a proper image of the company and the Front Sales Engineer at all times. Monitor sales activities of agents/distributors operating in ones designated sales area and provide support (technical and marketing) where appropriate.
Adhere to the Yokogawa Authorisation Rule. Protect the organisation's values by keeping information confidential. Respond positively to any other reasonable request pertaining to the job.
Essential: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering/ BTech /BSc Engineering. Minimum of 7 years' experience in industrial process control and industrial automation environment. At least 4 years sales experience.
Desirable: Training in sales / marketing / negotiation/ management/computer technology/contract management.
Confident and extrovert individual. Ability to work and problem solve on own or as a group member and team player. Results oriented. Customer focus. Mature and able to multitask.
