Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

We are a beauty start-up founded in 2020 and located in the heart of Berlin. Our team is composed of over 100 brilliant human beings who came from all over the world to write Yepoda's story actively.
We are currently looking for a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our marketing efforts across online & offline retail. This is a key leadership role at Yepoda, working closely with the founders and the Head of Brand to shape our marketing vision, scale our impact, and help build a long-lasting, successful, beloved brand.
Your Tasks
Lead the Marketing Vision
- Define and drive Yepoda's overall marketing strategy across both DTC and offline retail channels, including key partnerships like Sephora.
- Own the full customer journey, ensuring consistency, delight, and long-term loyalty at every touchpoint.
- Collaborate closely with the founders and the Brand & Communication team to craft and communicate compelling and differentiated brand narratives.
Continuously Elevate Brand and Performance
- Champion breakthrough storytelling and creative excellence that drives both long-term brand equity immediate conversion.
- Define and lead the development of a cohesive brand strategy across all markets, ensuring consistency and impact across key customer touchpoints — from digital and retail to experiential and community channels.
- Oversee the development and execution of high-impact performance marketing strategies, providing strategic direction together with the teams across paid social, influencer marketing, and emerging growth channels.
- Translate market insights and consumer data into actionable strategies that fuel brand relevance and business growth.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Build, lead, and scale a high-performing marketing- & brand team of 40 people, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and bold thinking.
- Create structure while empowering innovation; mentor team members and provide clear goals, feedback, and growth opportunities.
- Ensure that the marketing strategy is aligned with the brand strategy of Yepoda.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with product, creative, and operations to ensure alignment and execution excellence.
- Hands-on leadership style – knowing when to dive in, who to empower, and how to move the team quickly toward results.
Market-Specific Execution
- Lead regional marketing strategy and execution in core markets, ensuring cultural relevance and resonance.
- Ensure alignment of messaging and local initiatives with global brand vision and business priorities.
- Drive growth in the U.S. as our new focus market.
Insights, Optimization & Growth
- Leverage customer data, market trends, and competitor intelligence to continuously optimize brand strategy and positioning, marketing effectiveness, and uncover new growth opportunities.
- Monitor performance across all channels and campaigns, ensuring data-driven decision-making and continuous learning.
- Oversee the marketing budget to ensure efficient resource allocation and maximum ROI.
Your Profile
- You bring 10+ years of experience in marketing roles, including prior CMO or VP Marketing experience of at least 5 years at a high-growth consumer brand, ideally in beauty.
- Proven track record to roll out a brand across channels and activations
- Proven track record in performance marketing, with expertise in paid social, influencer marketing, and emerging growth channels.
- You've helped build love brands and know how to drive both short-term results and long-term brand equity.
- You're a strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset – able to set vision and structure while rolling up your sleeves.
- You have a strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams, providing clarity, coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and growth.
- You thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and are excited to help shape the future of a growing brand.
- You're a collaborative leader who empowers teams and ensures alignment across departments.
- You're fluent in English; Italian, French, Spanish, German or Korean are a plus.
- You're data-driven, brand-obsessed, and deeply customer-focused.
- Experience in beauty, lifestyle, or consumer products is a big plus.
