Job Summary

As a Frontend Engineer on the Open Platform team, you will be essential in growing Yalo's SaaS capabilities for builders. You will be at the forefront of building and maintaining a platform that empowers any builder—internal or external—to create an account, connect channels, and launch working solutions within minutes instead of weeks. This work is critical to exposing the powerful services being developed in our backend and enabling our customers to interact with and configure our products directly, fueling faster growth for Yalo.

Your Mission?

Your mission is to develop the user-facing interfaces that allow our customers to have a seamless self-service experience.

Responsibilities for this Role

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve user-facing software.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to create a seamless and intuitive user experience.
  • Work alongside backend engineers to ensure seamless integration with data microservices.
  • Focus on overall product quality, ensuring testability, portability, monitoring, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in frontend development to ensure Yalo remains at the cutting edge.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of frontend development experience.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Deep understanding of modern web development practices and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with frontend build tools, such as Webpack, Babel, and NPM.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in UI/UX and design principles.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker on Kubernetes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
  • Experience with Cloud Native technologies.
  • Experience working with Agile Methodologies

Desirable Requirements for this Role

  • Experience creating reusable and composable UI component libraries.
  • Knowledge of data visualization libraries and components (like Nivo).
  • Experience with other frontend frameworks or libraries.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a notable presence in the developer community.
  • Knowledge of server-side processes or languages, enhancing collaboration with backend teams.

How We Will Measure Success Out of This Role

  • Maintain and improve our public API Hub to drive further adoption beyond our lead users.
  • Develop user workflows and configuration for account creation, inspecting and administering granular access control for users and account features.
  • Create billing visibility and control to track, report, and pay for account features and monthly on-demand spend.
  • Build a self-service media upload and management system in Yalo Studio to allow users to directly upload and manage media files (images, videos, GIFs, stickers, PDFs).
