Salary Range $116,300.00 - $174,425.00
Overview
This position, reporting to the Associate Director, Financial Systems & Solutions, will be a member of the development team supporting Yale’s Financial systems and the Finance function at Yale. The primary focus will be in the area of Finance (General Accounting, Chart of Accounts, Sponsored Projects, Budgets) and Source to Pay (requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, suppliers, procurement card imports, settlements, etc.), but will also support other Finance functions/systems. The Financial Systems & Solutions team creates and maintains applications and integrations built on the Workday platform, including the Workday integrations toolset and Workday Extend and orchestration, and middleware tools like webMethods and Talend. The person in this position must have the capacity to understand technical concepts but be able to communicate in a non-technical manner with functional users. This role will collaborate with other members of the team to ensure the development of consistent business architecture across the Finance applications at Yale. This role will lead the support and/or installation software applications and integrations, participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. This role will provide support and guidance to users, helping to resolve issues related to system usage and performance. This includes providing on-call and 24/7 support when necessary. Provides technical support to project team members. Performs a variety of tasks. As a Software Engineer 4, this person will be expected to leads and direct the work of others and at a minimum apply their leadership qualities at the team and department level; Assignments are complex; decisions can have a medium and long term impact to the areas of which they are accountable requiring advanced best practice expertise.
Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to build and maintain complex Workday Integrations (STUDIO, EIB, Reports, XSLT). Developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Enhanced interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Strong systems analysis methods and techniques. Knowledge of information security concepts, principles, relevant tools, and standards.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and strong knowledge in supporting Financial systems, Workday is preferred. Knowledge of Workday Integrations (EIB, XSLT, Reports, STUDIO, WWS), Workday Extend, Orchestration. Workday Pro Certifications are a plus. Knowledge of Middleware tools (webMethods, Talend ETL/ESB); SQL Server Database procedures/functions Demonstrated use of AI in previous work experiences.
