Join our Global Technology Team as Software Engineering Lead anywhere in New Zealand to make a real impact every day. Reporting into Director of Software Engineering, you will help us lead a C# team, building and maintaining Xplor's reconciliation platforms. This platform is part of a global, full-stack payment processing system that supports integrators, partners, and merchants. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, partnering with Product Management, Site Reliability Engineering, and other teams to deliver and support required functionality across our payment platform. Some of the other responsibilities include:

Technical:

• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code based on standards and best practices.
• Refactor existing code, write unit tests, and review other team members' code.
• Contribute to performance, diagnostic, and troubleshooting analysis of software.
• Create and maintain documentation for your team services.
• Estimate, plan and implement new features in collaboration with product and design.

Leadership:

• Oversee a team of 5-6 software developers and 2-3 QA engineers.
• Collaborating with team members across different time zones (New Zealand & India) and adapting to flexible working hours as needed.
• Collaborate with other development teams around the world to build a global, full-stack payment processing platform.
• Provide people leadership to the team, including goal setting and performance reviews, coaching and mentoring.
• Manage the on-call rotation for your team, ensuring that it's fair, effective, and sustainable.
• Manage a flexible work schedule to accommodate meetings that may occur outside normal business hours for the region, while protecting healthy work-life balance.

Location: In this position, you can work from home 100% from anywhere in New Zealand, provided you have full working rights.

At Xplor, we have many different products and technologies. We have evolved from a collection of start-ups into a unified company with over 700 Xplorers in our GT team, working together as one team around the world. We use a wide range of programming languages, from the most modern to older ones. We continuously refine our processes and technologies to establish common ground among the various projects and products we manage.

With this, we rely heavily on our engineers to be dynamic. Xplor is not the company (yet) where you'll always have well-defined requirements and rigid processes. Our Engineers have a lot of input into the process and requirements. However, there can be challenges and ambiguity you have to overcome – and we know that's not for everyone. The positive side of this is that you get to have a lot of say and ownership in the product and the process.
