Xeneta

A platform providing real-time data on ocean and air freight rates, enabling better logistics and supply chain decision-making.

QA Engineer (Temporary)

At Xeneta, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our team. You'll collaborate with developers, product managers, and fellow QA engineers to ensure our platform meets high standards. This role is a great opportunity to sharpen your QA skills, work with modern testing practices, and make a real impact by helping us deliver reliable, high-quality products.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys testing — who spots the details others miss, thinks of the "what ifs," and even finds joy in breaking things (and making them better). You thrive on collaboration, share knowledge freely, and are excited by the challenge of scaling test automation and pipelines.

This is a temporary, full-time contract for 9 months to cover for parental leave. The location for the role is Oslo, Norway.

What You'll Do

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Drive quality early in the process by collaborating closely with developers, designers, and product managers (shift-left testing mindset).
  • Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and unexpected behavior.
  • Partner with stakeholders to prioritize testing efforts, align on risks, and support release decisions.
  • Validate data accuracy and consistency to ensure metrics and trends are correctly calculated and presented.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks across UI, API, and backend systems.
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines are robust, reliable, and integrated with automation and reporting.

What You'll Bring

We believe the needed skills and experience for this role are as follows:

  • Experience from a QA role, preferably from a data platform.
  • Help set the right testing priorities by focusing on the most impactful areas for product quality and user experience.
  • Proficiency in modern test frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, etc.).
  • Good understanding of backend services and API testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of SQL/MySQL or other databases for testing and validation.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Not sure whether you're the perfect fit? Apply anyway — we love to hear from interesting people! Just be sure to tell us who you are as a person, not just your professional experience.

What We Offer

We have a transparent and open work environment where everyone is empowered to make an impact and encouraged to voice their ideas.

Keeping true to our value, Xeneta is one, we regularly organize social events, including global company trips, breakfast gatherings, Friday after-work-socials, and weekly quizzes.

We have flexible working hours (core time with meetings is 10:00 to 15:00, the rest is up to you), and you can work remotely for extended periods when needed.

We value work-life balance and want to make sure you can spend quality time with your family or enjoy your hobbies when your workday is over.

About Xeneta

At Xeneta, we have been on a mission to transform the ocean and air freight markets since 2012. We are doing this by building a data platform that provides intelligence to the very opaque industry of buying and selling containerized freight. Now, Xeneta is the leading freight rate benchmarking and market analytics platform—creating transparency and empowering our customers to make data-driven decisions.

Our customers include big brands such as Kuehne+Nagel, Coca-Cola Company, Unilever, Pfizer, Flexport, L'Oreál, Nestlé, and Volvo.

Headquartered in Oslo, with offices in Hamburg, London, and Jersey City and employees from over 60 different countries, we are a truly international company that celebrates diversity. We're growing at a fast pace, helped in part by our latest investment round where APAX Digital invested $80M, and we are continuously searching for top talent and partners to join us on our mission.
