Tribal Water Engineer
The Wind River Water Resources Control Board seeks an individual to fill the position of the Tribal Water Engineer (TWE). The TWE is responsible for administration and enforcement of the Wind River Water Code, established as the framework for the management of the Tribes' federal reserved water rights.
Responsibilities:
- Administration and enforcement of the Water Code.
- Fact-finding and information gathering to improve water resource management.
- Advising the Water Board and Wind River Inter-Tribal Council of the Tribes on water-related matters.
- Research and development activities to assure the continued operation of the OTWE.
The TWE must have excellent writing and oral communication skills. Be fully familiar with the protection and implementation of Indian water rights. Be comfortable with the use and application of computers and GIS mapping tools to water resource management and administration.
