Cherry Bekaert's Strategic Financing Services (SFS) Group is looking for a Consultant Manager to join the SFS Consulting team. We offer an opportunity to work with a team of experts with a deep track record in New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocation applications, NMTC placement and deployment, and NMTC compliance and asset management services. The Consultant Manager will build a pipeline of potential borrowers, and structured finance opportunities, and expand into new markets and regions using in-depth knowledge of and relationships with Community Development Entities (CDEs), Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), tax credit investors, community lenders, and other community development stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong sense of urgency and a mission to help make a difference in Low-Income Communities.

SFS has been involved in the NMTC industry since its inception and to date has secured over $1.7 billion in NMTC funding. SFS is proud to have structured and facilitated NMTC investments that have created 32,880 direct jobs, served 655,382 low-income individuals through community goods and services, and helped develop over 13.2 million square feet of new and improved commercial and industrial real estate. SFS's current portfolio consists of investments in areas with poverty rates as high as 66%, median family income as low as 14.24%, and unemployment rates as high as 31.2%.

As a Consultant Manager, you will:

• Establish relationships with CDFIs, CDEs, and various community development stakeholders
• Identify opportunities with existing or aspiring CDFIs to allow them to execute their vision
• Assist clients with formalizing their organizational framework through an Organization Assessment including: review of the organization's service area, products/services, track record, pipeline, community impact data, management capacity and finances
• Assist with underwriting and structuring NMTC transactions
• Support and prepare for submission of relevant Certifications
• Prepare sub-CDE Certifications in connection with NMTC allocation agreements
• Work with organizations to meet certification requirements and establish policies and procedures that will ensure continued compliance
• Help identify an organization's short and long-term goals and objectives needs to be developing a sustainable financial plan
• Help secure private investment commitments and a strategy for long-term financial viability
• Actively manage a pipeline of community development finance investing, lending, and growth initiatives
• Collaborate with GPS and GovCon teams to identify and develop grant writing opportunities that align with compliance needs and enhance cross-industry initiatives
• Work collaboratively with Bank Finance and other industries within Cherry Bekaert to create comprehensive offerings that holistically serve our clients' needs and identify and develop grant writing opportunities
• Other job-related functions as assigned
• Travel: 10-20%

What you bring to the role:

• BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master's Degree or JD a plus
• At least 3+ years of experience in community development finance, structured finance, or commercial loans preferred
• Knowledge of tax credit financing required, with specific experience with NMTC strongly preferred
• Experience in working with CDEs, lenders, investors
• Demonstrated experience in putting together and closing deals
• Proficiency in Excel
• Strong sense of urgency and shared sense of mission

The salary range for this position is included below. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location. Pay Range: $96,235 - $197,500
