Director, Extended Stay Operations

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Director, Extended Stay Operations to join our team at the Remote in the United States location in Remote, Remote.

The primary responsibility of Director of Extended Stay Operations (DESO) is to live and exhibit our "Owners First" culture. DESO will manage a team of Operations professionals and be a conduit between developers/owners/management companies/hotel staff and WHR teams, creating the value proposition and driving revenue through engagement in WHR programs and services that yield top line revenue (i.e. Revenue Management Services, Remote Sales, Wyndham Sales, Signature Reservations and future programs). DESO will also leverage their background and experience to advise on extended-stay operational excellence to improve the bottom line for owners.

Supervise several manager-level team members focused on driving operational excellence from contract execution through hotel opening and ongoing operations.

Drive extended-stay occupancy (ESOC) to best-in-segment levels for each hotel by marshalling resources within WHR to achieve mutual goals.

Lead WHR efforts to expand overall revenue generation opportunities, drive growth and performance (RPI).

Maintain consistently-high quality performance and increase customer satisfaction (Net Promoter, OSAT) for our extended-stay hotels.

Build and maintain relationships with key influencers within the developer/owner/management company/hotel teams and assist them in resolving complex challenges.

Make decisions that have a direct impact on financial goals and operations.

Understand market conditions impacting hotel operations and performance with the ability to identify, recommend and influence revenue-generating opportunities.

Influence and inspire engagement with our extended stay brands and WHR initiatives.

Recommend improvement actions that will drive positive guest reviews.

Continuously learn new initiatives and stay current with industry trends and transfer this knowledge to the team and the wider organization to enhance our value proposition.

Train and mentor team members as needed.

Seamless continuation of work while traveling on company business (i.e. conduct work using mobile devices, from hotels, while at trade shows, and/or across varying time zones when necessary).

70% travel with flexible work schedule.

Work under pressure with extended hours/days when required in order to meet deadlines.

Must be able to independently prioritize and schedule multiple team-member responsibilities.

This position requires the ability to stand and be on your feet for approximately 50% of the day.

This position requires the ability to sit/drive long distances for approximately 70% of the week.

Qualified candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs and the ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull while inspecting properties.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to effectively present material to various audiences.

Deep understanding of the extended-stay segment, how it differs from the transient segment and how to use this knowledge to drive the business.

Ability to manage and inspire entry-level operations team members to achieve goals.

Proficient at analyzing and organizing data consistently to execute meaningful messages internally and externally.

Proficient influencing skills to achieve operational results and client engagement.

Fluent understanding of existing WHR tools & resources and able to leverage them for the benefit of the hotel/owner.

Builds on existing internal relationships and trust & provides feedback/solutions to leadership on hotel/owner needs & challenges.

Fluent in ability to manage conflict and difficult conversations.

Expert in independently prioritizing, organizing and managing time effectively.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to effectively present material to various audiences.

Recent extended-stay experience either as a GM of an extended-stay hotel, as a management company representative for extended-stay hotels or corporate experience from another extended-stay hotel company.

6-to-8 years of progressive experience in an extended-stay hotel as GM or a related field required, preferably, property and corporate management experience.

4-year college degree.

Multi-property experience.

Industry certifications.

Leadership experience.

Proficient in using Salesforce and Microsoft Suite (i.e. Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)

3-5 years of Wyndham Operations experience is preferred.
