The Vice President of Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a broad portfolio of non-clinical service departments across the WVU Medicine Eastern Region (Berkeley Medical Center & Jefferson Medical Center). This executive will lead the functions of Facilities Engineering, Environmental Services, Safety, Security, Clinical Laboratories, and Dietary and Nutrition Services. The VP ensures each department supports excellence, regulatory compliance, patient satisfaction, staff safety, and financial performance. The role requires visionary leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to lead teams in a complex, regulated healthcare environment. The leader is responsible for guiding change to achieve goals and representing the organization to key external authorities and constituencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
1. Master's Degree in Health Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Engineering, or related field required.
Experience:
1. Ten (10) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with at least 5 years at the executive level. Experience overseeing multiple departments across diverse hospital or healthcare settings. Proven experience managing multi-site operations and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:

1. Membership status with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

1. Standard office environment. This is an executive-level, regional role that will require regular travel to various sites. Onsite leadership with some hybrid work time available based on operational needs.
