Due to significant commercial growth in this sector, WSP Environment & Sustainability is seeking to enhance the expertise of our team. We are currently looking for a Junior Environmental Engineer / Chemist based in Italy.

Support on studies under Italian Environmental Impact Assessment legislation (VIA, SIA, VINCA, etc.)
Assist in projects related to Environmental Authorizations under Italian legislation (AIA, AUA, etc.)
Act as junior environmental specialist on EHS Due Diligence and investor-driven ESG/Sustainable Finance
Support environmental components of Environmental Impact Assessments for national and international projects, focusing on physical components (baseline surveys, geological and hydrological studies, air, noise, GIS tools)
Prepare emissions calculations for industrial sources
Contribute to the development of technical reports
You will join our Sustainability Services team in one of our Italian offices, working closely with colleagues across Italy and internationally.
Projects: Environmental Impact Assessments, ESG advisory, permitting, and sustainability consulting for diverse industrial sectors
Client base: National and international clients in energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing
Reporting to: Project Manager, Sustainability Services

Development: Exposure to multidisciplinary projects and training opportunities
Location: Flexible within Italy, with occasional travel (1–2 weeks) in Italy and worldwide
MS or MA degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Chemistry
Knowledge of environmental assessment tools, EHS due diligence, and audits
Experience in a similar environmental consulting role
International training or experience is a plus
Knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS) and Microsoft Office is a plus
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills in English
Willingness to travel for short-term assignments
