Project Coordinator
A project-focused role responsible for leading and coordinating multi-stakeholder teams to deliver repair and improvement works safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. The role covers end-to-end implementation—from defining scope, managing contractors, risks, costs, and schedules, to monitoring execution, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and reporting progress. Acts as the primary interface between Project Company, O&M, vendors, and experts, translating complex operational issues into clear scopes of work, tracking actions through to completion, and ensuring effective communication, documentation, and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Communication. Motivating members, and acting as the primary liaison between Project Company, O&M Company, Experts and Vendors.
- Implementation of repair works. From definition of needs, to writing RFQs, selection of contractors and follow-up of site works.
- Monitoring & Reporting. Tracking performance against plans and producing regular status reports for stakeholders.
- Planning & Scheduling. Defining project scope, KPIs and deliverables, and creating schedules and timelines, leveraging MS Project or similar.
- Review As-built drawings, P&IDs, OEM specification to ensure compliance with industry and project good practice and standards. Acts as the key interface between Project Co, O&M, vendors teams and project/expert teams.
- Risk & Issue Mitigation. Identifying potential risks and implementing Action Plan, Action Tracker, creating strategies to overcome obstacles and prevent delays.
- Contract & Budget Management: Liaises with the Project Co finance team, manages costs, and oversee subcontractors / contractor performance, acts as the Project Co Representative.
- Quality Control. Ensuring deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
- Ability to document observations and consolidate findings for the expertise team. E.g. gather the operational leak history from the plant and report it in a structured way
- Translate complex operational problems into an understandable scope of work, which can be submitted to external suppliers and stakeholders.
- Ensures issues are captured, recommendations are implemented, and execution is tracked through to completion. Identify delays early, highlight risks, and escalate bottlenecks when required.
- Organize and facilitate regular progress meetings and follow-up on decisions.
Qualifications
- Hands-on and proactive attitude. Able to spend time on site gathering information and validating data directly with operators. The willingness to be available after regular business hours, when necessary.
- Data analysis. Able to compile, structure, and interpret operational data to support the development of an Experience in plant performance monitoring (not necessary desalination plant)
- Strong operational background, with a good understanding of plant processes and performance drivers (not Reporting. Able to communicate in a clear, precise and effective manner
