Main Activities and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the Design of Fire Protection services of any building types or classes and all its associated systems of work.
2. Leads and supervises the Fire Protection Engineering team in implementing project objectives, plans and programs within the department as directed by the management.
3. Ensures that the project designs/studies from the clients are completed in accordance with acceptable prescribed standard for each requesting party's place/country of origin and its intent/content.
4. Responsible for liaison with local supply authorities to gain approvals, when necessary.
5. Manages and maintains the record of all incoming and outgoing drawings from the office in accordance with WSP QA procedures.
6. Liaises with WSP personnel and WSP's partners both local and foreign affiliates and clients.
7. Liaises and coordinates with other disciplines of the design team.
8. Manages and controls outputs in accordance with the design works program.
9. Attends meeting when required both local and overseas.
10. At all times exhibit behaviour, consistent with that of a professional member of WSP.
11. Responsible for training and development of subordinates and Fire Protection Engineering team.
12. Creates regular reports on project status for management.
13. Keeps abreast of technical updates and advises management.
14. Assist in multidisciplinary project activities.
15. Use of Fire Protection software and 3D modelling to develop fire system designs.
16. Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations.
17. Develop experience in managing small teams.
18. Contribute to building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organization.
19. Auditing of other more junior staff.
20. Apply safety in design processes on projects.
21. Prepare high level technical reports and review medium size project reports.
22. Project Lead medium sized multi-discipline projects.
23. Other duties as required by management from time to time

Qualifications (Minimum and Desirable):

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) is a plus

Experience, skills and organizational knowledge:

• At least 7 years of experience in a similar capacity
• Knowledge in Wet and Dry System
• AutoCAD and Revit Experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of WSP's organizational capability and how to access it.
• Working knowledge of systems, procedures and practices.
• Working knowledge of organizational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
• Experienced in applying QA and OH&S systems.
• Experience in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
