Highway Design Specialist

Production of detailed highway designs and construction drawings for various UK projects including residential, industrial, commercial, transport, water, retail, health and education projects.

Mandatory Skills:

Good command of written and verbal English

Significant experience in highway infrastructure design including horizontal and vertical design (highways, junctions and roundabouts) highway detailing, traffic signs, road markings, kerbs, pavements and vehicle tracking.

Fully conversant with software like Civil 3d.

UK/International project experience essential in the application of DMRB/MfS/Local Highway Authority Design Guides or similar design standards and developing designs and drawings in compliant with Section S38/S278 applications

Problem solving and originality.

Cultural awareness, conscientious and an open mind are essential requirements for the role.

High degree of self-motivation and ability to motivate others.

Ability to work under pressure and with minimum of supervision.

Ability to check work to ensure quality deliverables.

A proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel is also expected.

Desired skills but not essential:

Project management and line management welcomed but not essential

Knowledge of UK highway drainage design including design to Section 104 of the Water Industry Act and Building Regulation technical approvals would be advantageous.
