The Engineer - Process will be responsible for process design and technical due diligence for desalination, sewage treatment, and industrial water treatment.
Technical review of process documents during basic engineering and detail engineering vis a vis contractual requirements, codes & standards, and industry practices focusing particularly on Middle East markets. Technical support to the pre-contract and project delivery teams on matters concerning the design, construction, and operation of desal/STP/wastewater treatment plants and associated equipment. Technical review of offtaker's/end user specification, EPC contract, water/sewage treatment plant purchase agreement (WPA), O&M contract, etc. and their alignment with relevant standards & codes and Middle East region precedents. Preparation of technical due diligence report, quarterly and operation report for lenders. Technical evaluation of technical tender submissions and report preparation. Review of contract documents, technical design documents, financial model, etc. Preparation and review of monthly and quarterly construction progress reports in roles of lender's technical advisor or owner's engineer. Participate in meetings with clients and contractors as and when needed. Maintain an awareness of technological advances and industry best practice. Knowledge of health & safety requirements and compliance. Attend and contribute to team and project meetings. Lead by example and ensure QMS and project lifecycle compliance across team and projects. Feedback on all business development opportunities.
Mandatory skills process design for pretreatment, UF, SWRO/BWRO, STPs, and industrial water treatment. SWRO software like Wave, IMS design, etc. Wastewater treatment design knowledge by using software like BioWin, etc. Knowledge of pre- and post-treatment processes particularly those followed in the Middle East region. Must have worked on large Desal, STPs projects preferably across the Middle East & other regions. Experience in selection of mechanical/BOP equipment. Knowledge of calculating and evaluating of specific power and chemical consumption for Desal and wastewater treatment plant. Interdisciplinary knowledge to coordinate with mechanical, electrical, C&I, civil, and commissioning teams. Preparation of technical specifications for wastewater treatment plants. Design review of wastewater treatment plants (process, mechanical, and BOP). Validation of specific calculation procedures for desalination plants/equipment. Familiarity with international standards like ASME/ANSI, AWWA, WEF, NACE, etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good computer skills including AutoCAD 2D & 3D, MS Office, and tools.
Experience in advisory roles for desalination, STPs, and wastewater treatment plants particularly for the Middle East region. Knowledge of ISTP/IWWTP/IWP contracts is an advantage. Knowledge of cost of equipment is an advantage. Knowledge of cost of Desal, STPs/wastewater treatment plants/equipment is an advantage. Knowledge of evaluating of specific power and chemical consumption for Desal, STPs, and wastewater treatment plant.
The candidate should be a graduate environment/chemical/mechanical engineer with minimum 6-15 years of relevant experience. Experienced user of Microsoft Office.
