Own and lead geotechnical design work for Scandinavian infrastructure projects

Provides engineering, environmental, and professional consulting services for infrastructure, buildings, transportation, energy, and environmental projects worldwide.
Experience in the delivery of geotechnical projects, including preparing reports to a high technical level. Understanding of client requirements and the ability to influence contract specifications. Effectively manage and deliver project work with robust project financial management.
Should have proven previous experience of undertaking and managing geotechnical desk studies; designing, procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIS); checking Ground Investigation Reports & Geotechnical Design Reports in accordance with Euro codes and British standards.
Describing soil and rocks to international standards and an understanding of Geotechnical Interpretative Reports including recommendations for deep and shallow foundations and shoring works.
Knowledge of Slope stability and Settlement analysis of Embankment using appropriate software.
Deep excavation and supported excavation (retaining wall) knowledge
Knowledge of various ground improvement techniques (stabilization).
Understanding of geo-environmental assessments including Phase 1, 2 and 3.
Knowledge of Finite Element modeling tool and application.
Undertake own continuing professional development and that of others, including representing the geotechnical team at technical conferences and seminars.
Be able to efficiently plan, prioritize, act, and integrate activities into client and WSP programs, and processes. Communicate and work cross-functionally with all levels of management and technical functions.
Work effectively within a global client organization, be flexible, diplomatic, and entrepreneurial.
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and proven ability to communicate results orally and in writing.
Qualifications
Mandatory Skills
Working knowledge with project including Roads, Bridges or properties and buildings design and construction.
Working knowledge with Euro codes
Knowledge of the complexity regarding Scandinavian soil conditions. Experience from design of sheet pile constructions.
Knowledge of the Scandinavian ground investigation methods.
Experience from FEM-simulations using supporting structures, Experience from design of different types of pile structures, retaining structures, foundation designs, bearing capacity calculations, settlement analysis, stability analysis, preparation of GIR, GDR, review of GIFR, deriving geotechnical design parameters
Experience in geotechnical software like Geo Calc, GeoStudio Slope/W, Plaxis 2D and 3D.
Knowledge of geotechnical software like AutoCAD, GeoSuite, SLIDE2 – Slope Stability Analysis, Settle3 – Settlement Analysis.
