You'll join our Buildings – Mechanical & Electrical team in Regina or Saskatoon as a Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist Student, contributing to real projects that shape the places where people live, learn, heal, and thrive.

You'll work alongside experienced designers and engineers to support HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems design across commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential projects.

Your Impact

  • Support senior designers in developing HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection system designs for multidisciplinary building projects.
  • Assist with initial site investigations, field reviews, and contractor follow-ups throughout design and construction phases.
  • Prepare design drawings using Revit or AutoCAD, contributing to coordinated drawing packages across disciplines.
  • Perform technical calculations for heating/cooling loads, ventilation, water supply, and drainage systems.
  • Contribute to specifications, engineering studies, design reports, and technical documentation.
  • Support review of shop drawings, RFIs, and contract administration tasks during construction.
  • Build strong working relationships with engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction partners.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Currently enrolled in a recognized Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar technologist program.
  • A curious problem-solver with a "can-do" mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple tasks, adapting to shifting priorities, and learning in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Familiarity with Revit or AutoCAD; experience is an asset but not required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Exposure to codes such as NBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA considered an asset.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $22.00 – $25.50/hour

MB & ON: $20.50 – $24.00/hour

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $19.50 – $23.00/hour
