This position is open Canada-wide and reports to the Department Manager, Transmission Planning & Studies.

Your Impact

  • Perform power system analyses—including power flow, short circuit, and stability studies—using PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, ASPEN, or similar tools.
  • Develop and validate RMS and EMT models that support reliable and secure grid interconnections.
  • Prepare complete, high-quality interconnection applications and technical documentation for diverse North American jurisdictions.
  • Lead and contribute to study review meetings, bringing clear technical insight to clients and project partners.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to support safe, efficient and forward-looking grid planning.
  • Apply your expertise to improve grid reliability, advance renewable integration, and support the transition to clean energy.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • You bring a BSEE and hands-on experience in transmission planning and/or model development.
  • You have practical knowledge using tools such as PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN, or equivalent.
  • You communicate clearly—whether writing technical reports, preparing proposals, or delivering presentations.
  • You thrive in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment and manage competing deadlines with confidence.
  • You're comfortable collaborating across regions and disciplines while also working independently when needed.
  • You're open to travel (approximately 10% or more at times).
  • (Bonus) You have or are pursuing PEng/PE registration.
  • (Bonus) You offer MSc/PhD, Python scripting, or HVDC/FACTs experience that elevates your technical impact.
