The GIS Assistant will actively support the Hydraulic Modelling/GIS team at WSP Bengaluru, GCC India, by preparing spatial data, conducting GIS and FME analyses, and developing critical inputs for hydrological and hydraulic models. This role is integral to the successful delivery of projects, with a strong focus on producing accurate, reliable, and high-quality outputs. The position offers flexible working hours (20–37 hours per week) with overlap to Danish (DK) time, and is expected to commence in Winter/Spring 2026.
Prepare maps for reports and project documentation, ensuring clarity and precision.
Perform GIS analyses and manage extensive spatial datasets efficiently.
Prepare input data for hydrological modelling, such as converting grids to flexible mesh and exporting data from VASP to MIKE+ and MIKE21.
Visualise spatial and hydraulic data within GIS platforms.
Conduct FME analyses and develop Python scripts for automated data processing.
Analyse and convert data for hydraulic model inputs.
Create visualisations of hydraulic model results, including flooding maps and longitudinal profiles of return periods in rivers.
Support modelling of flow patterns from cloudburst events using MIKE+ and MIKE21.
Types of Projects
DK2020 (GIS component): Contribute to spatial data preparation and analysis.
EDD (GIS/Data component): Support data handling and GIS workflows.
Hydraulic modelling input preparation: Data conversions and analysis for model readiness.
Hydraulic model result visualisation: Produce maps and profiles for project deliverables.
Cloudburst flow modelling: Assist with MIKE+ and MIKE21 analyses for extreme event scenarios.
Expected Outputs / KPIs
Deliver highly accurate GIS and modelling inputs with minimal errors.
Handle and visualise data with meticulous attention, prioritising quality over speed.
Provide clear documentation and ensure workflows are reproducible for future reference.
