Early Career Workover Engineer

Your Impact
- Assist in leading projects focused on the workover, completion, and repair of underground storage wells and facilities, working under the guidance of senior engineers within the Workover & MIT team in the Underground Gas Storage (UGS) Group.
- Support a variety of engineering tasks, analyses, and calculations related to underground storage operations, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard methodologies and tools.
- Participate in designing, planning, and overseeing field activities associated with well workovers, especially in salt cavern environments, while learning from experienced mentors.
- Help coordinate third-party vendors, service providers, and client personnel to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery, with increasing responsibility as experience grows.
- Apply foundational industry knowledge and training to assist in diagnosing and remediating well integrity issues, and contribute to the execution of well work projects alongside seasoned engineers.
- Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects, supporting project managers and engineers throughout the process.
- Contribute to managing project budgets, cost control, and scheduling for various underground storage initiatives, developing skills in project management and financial oversight.
- Prepare and review schematics, drawings, technical reports, casing programs, and workover procedures with support from the team, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including geologists, engineers, accounting specialists, and administrative assistants—to deliver successful projects and foster positive client relationships.
- Work collaboratively on projects with underground storage components, including coordination with various authorities on federal, state, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.
- Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, calculations, statistical analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of data obtained during field visits, offering input toward developing effective design solutions.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, providing support across the Workover & MIT team and the broader UGS Group while developing professional competencies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience, including internships.
- Exposure to well maintenance, project coordination, and on-site field operations through coursework or hands-on training.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and their application to project-related issues, with an understanding of relevant mechanical systems, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
- Capable interpersonal and communication skills for expressing ideas effectively and professionally to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively within dynamic, collaborative teams, delivering results in fast-paced environments.
- Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instructions, work independently, and comply with company policies.
- Moderate proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze testing results, data collation, load calculations, and statistical analysis, arriving at effective and economical solutions.

- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements, which may extend beyond a typical workweek; occasional travel may be required.
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $58,200- $90,200
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
