Join a dynamic team with an international reach? At WSP, a global leader in consulting and environmental services, you will join the Sherbrooke office as part of the environmental technology team. In collaboration with specialists from around the world, you will participate in the design, development, and deployment of environmental instrumentation and monitoring systems, including telemetry and data analysis. Our projects, varied and innovative, cover both automated environmental monitoring and terrestrial and underwater wildlife monitoring. Under the supervision of the R&D team leader, you will play an active role in the evolution of our technological solutions in a stimulating and multidisciplinary environment.

Your Impact

As a technician in production and electronic systems support, you will play a key role in the fabrication, assembly, preparation, and deployment of our equipment. You will work in collaboration with the engineering and R&D team to ensure an effective flow between the laboratory, workshop, and field installations.

This position is for a hands-on, autonomous, resourceful person who likes to touch everything and participate concretely in the realization of technological projects.

Main Responsibilities

Production and workshop support

· Assemble, wire, and prepare electronic and telemetry equipment.

· Perform fabrication and assembly tasks according to established procedures.

· Perform functional tests in the workshop (power supplies, communications, sensors, modules).

· Ensure equipment logistics (kit preparation, inventory, field shipments).

Field installation and support

· Participate in the installation of equipment in various environments: natural environments, industrial sites, construction sites.

· Perform cabling, commissioning, and basic verifications of systems.

· Provide support to users and collaborators during deployments.

R&D project participation

· Support team members in the preparation and integration of prototypes.

· Test new solutions and contribute to the improvement of products.

· Document observations, tests, and adjustments.

· Prepare or update technical guides and simple reports.

· Meticulous, organized, and able to follow technical instructions.

· Motivated to learn new technologies (sensors, radio modules, embedded systems).

Desired skills (assets, not mandatory)

· Experience in electronic assembly, wiring, or technical production.

· Basic knowledge of networks or communication (RS232, TCP-IP, radio, cellular, LoRa).

· Minimum comfort with measurement and test tools (multimeter, power supply, etc.).

· Reading of technical plans or diagrams.

· Field experience (installation, construction site, instrumentation).

Remuneration

Remuneration:

  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 – $76,200
  • MB & ON: $52,500 – $72,300
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $52,000 – $69,000

The final salary attributed to this position may differ according to several factors: training, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and organizational needs. The salary range may be modified for commercial reasons.
