Groundwater Team Professional

The Bengaluru team is seeking an experienced professional to join our growing groundwater team within the SWM Consulting Team (UK Water). You will have 2 to 4 years of professional experience on hydrogeology, groundwater modelling and/or knowledge of UK water sector. You will be expected to work with the wider UK team on developing conceptual groundwater models, interpretation of hydrogeological and geological data and other catchment studies for the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career and work with industry leading hydrogeologists and groundwater modellers with an excellent support network and mentorship from the UK team.

Responsibilities

The candidate should have demonstrable working experience on MODFLOW

Excellent communication and to effectively liaise with the UK team as well as internal and external Clients

Developing groundwater models, managing and interpretation of hydrogeological data

Skills on using automation tools for pre and post processing of large datasets (familiarity with 'Python, VBA, R' is desirable)

Preparing detailed modeling reports, extraction of information from groundwater models, producing interactive reports/mapping and other GIS based outputs

Works collaboratively within the team and proactively supports junior staff in developing their technical knowledge and understanding of tasks/projects assigned

Welcomes more responsibility and has an ability to proactively manage professional development, seeking support from more senior staff where required

Proactively contributes to the culture of safety, health and well-being of self and of individuals and the team; recognises the impact of what we do on the safety of others

Communicates openly and keeps people informed, actively supporting a knowledge sharing and learning environment across WSP.

Qualifications

Masters Degree in Water Resources Engineering or equivalent.

Prior experience of flood risk management based projects, ideally with exposure to standards, specifications and software tools used in the UK Water Industry. A minimum of 4 years industry experience is desirable.

Strong working knowledge of on groundwater modelling, hydrogeology and geomorphology.

Competent in MS Office.

Ability to work on own initiative on technical matters, ability/background in collaborating with other design disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects
