The Map Services team in Tokyo, Japan, is a culturally diverse team working on cutting-edge Cloud and Embedded mapping-related software to develop next-gen AD/ADAS technology. The team is responsible for sourcing map-related data from various suppliers, efficiently processing large sets of spatial data, and delivering maps to the vehicle using Over-the-air (OTA) updates. In the vehicle, this data is consumed by the AD/ADAS driving stack applications to enable comfortable and safe Autonomous Driving. On both online and offline processing, we leverage state-of-the-art technology to build high-throughput, efficient and fast geospatial information solutions.
As a Lead Engineer in the Map Services team, you will take the initiative to make a technical roadmap and cross-functional architecture for the E2E map stack. You lead engineering teams, while staying close to technology by contributing to the codebase yourself. You are responsible for both the cloud and vehicle side, where you will lead the development of the geospatial services that manage map and traffic information for the vehicles and contribute to enhancing the functionality and effectiveness of AD/ADAS technologies. Our services will serve fresh maps and real-time dynamic information to large-volume vehicles. You will work closely with other onboard AD/ADAS development teams and also with the cloud service development teams across the organization to define the product criteria, and commit deliverables for critical milestones of vehicle/cloud development in time. Additionally, you will manage the regulation and legal restrictions & regulations specific to each market.
All interviews will be arranged via Google Meet, unless otherwise stated. The same job descriptions are available in both English and Japanese; therefore, we kindly ask that you apply to only one version. We kindly request that you submit your resume in English, if possible. However, Japanese resumes are also acceptable. Please note that, depending on the English proficiency requirements of the role, we may request an English version of your resume later in the process.
