Senior Systems Engineer - AD/ADAS Software

The Woven by Toyota North America Systems Verification & Validation (V&V) team drives systems-level innovation for advanced AD/ADAS technologies—ensuring safety, performance, and seamless integration into real-world product deployments.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product, technical program management, software, and hardware engineering to analyze system behavior and design, integrate, verify and deploy features for AD/ADAS systems.
• Develop system level vehicle requirements and decompose to lower-level subsystems.
• Develop system latency budgets based on scenario analysis.
• Generate evaluation system for assessing system performance.
• Define and support the execution of systems verification and validation testing in simulation and on vehicle level.
• Define system and sub-system level architecture.
• Lead cross-functional technical design reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional work experience, preferably working around complex system development.
• Master's degree in one of the following fields: mechanical, computer engineering, systems engineering or related disciplines.
• Experience working with complex safety-critical systems combining all parts of the autonomy/ADAS stack.
• Expertise in transforming high-level mission or product requirements into a robust architecture.
• Demonstrated experience performing engineering analysis & trade studies of entire system.
• Demonstrated experience defining and executing verification and validation testing for complex systems.
• Demonstrated experience in design, executing and interpreting verification and validation tests results in simulation environments as well as in-vehicle.
• Demonstrated experience in successfully launching automotive programs or other domain-specific initiatives for customers.
• Ability to influence, negotiate, and inspire others in a matrixed environment.
• Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity.
• Experience in requirement derivation, tracking, and verification test processes.
• Understanding of typical vehicle communication protocols/interfaces.
• Software coding skills (Python, C/C++ or other).
