Operations Supervisor

The Nordic Center at the Woodstock Inn & Resort is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join the team.
With an extensive network of winter trails throughout Mt. Peg and Mt. Tom, the Nordic Center offers more than 45 km of groomed trails suitable for both skate and classic cross-country skiing. Snowshoers & fat bike riders may utilize the groomed ski trail areas, as well as a series of ungroomed trails for a more invigorating outdoor experience. The Woodstock Nordic Center provides rentals for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, winter clothing, accessories, and trail passes.
Job Summary:
The Nordic Center Operations Supervisor will supervise daily operations at Woodstock Inn & Resort Nordic Center including staff, sales and guest service. Daily responsibilities can include trail conditions reporting, working the retail and/or rental shop floor, overseeing and assigning ski school staff, and opening/closing duties of the Nordic center.
Job Specifications:
- Expected Pay Range: starting at $25.00 per hour
- Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time Seasonal, position starts in November 2025 and ends in April 2026
- Weekends and holidays as needed
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective working relationships that create a welcoming and inclusive team.
- Create the schedule for assigned team members.
- Manage daily operations, including inventory control, cash management and store appearance.
- Provide consistent and direct feedback, coaching and guidance to team members.
- Complete training checklist with team members starting with their first day.
- Ensure a high level of guest service and a positive experience for guests from their ticket purchase, renting equipment, ski lessons and retail sales experience.
- Daily responsibilities may include opening/ closing the Nordic Center and all aspects of day-to-day operations: Retail, Rental, Ski School, and to serve as a liaison with Grooming Staff.
- Perform related administrative duties.
- Work with the director to ensure that all lessons or guided activities have appropriate instructors assigned.
- Coordinate all aspects of group activities or events alongside the director and the sales event coordinator
- Help manage ski rental fleet. Coordinate repairs as needed.
- Support the director in safety and risk management initiatives.
- Represent the Woodstock Inn & Resort as an ambassador in the community and professional networks.
- Demonstrate the core values of the Woodstock Inn & Resort and continue to protect the natural resources by participating in Resort committees and initiatives.
- Working supervisor for one or more employees doing similar or related work in the same division.
- Provide input into human resource decisions and refer more complex issues to the director for clarification of policies and procedures before proceeding.
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years' experience mounting and tuning ski and snowboard equipment. Must be comfortable working on a variety of equipment styles and have knowledge of styles versus ski surface ad be comfortable advising members on the appropriate equipment for the day and experience level
- 2+ years' experience in a business ski rental or tuning environment or equivalent
- Experience with point of sale or inventory management systems
- Daily assignments involve prolonged standing, transporting material or equipment, or lifting, moving, or carrying heavy (over 30 pounds) materials for intermittent periods throughout the day.
- Daily assignments involve exposure to temperature / weather extremes. Working surfaces may be unlevel, slippery, or unstable.
