Wood is recruiting for a Senior/Principal Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. This is a full-time office-based role.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior/Principal Technical Safety Engineer to join our Iraq Operations Business. This role is full time residential based in Sharjah, UAE.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an International Client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by provision of engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as Supply Chain, Construction and Commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.

Projects include both Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key Objectives include:

• Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:
• Executing assigned scopes of work
• Providing discipline expertise to the business
• Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
• Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables
• Performs engineering assignments, usually representing a significant portion of a larger project
• Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments
• Applies specific area(s) of expertise in own discipline area
• In consultancy businesses, may review and manages complex projects within area of expertise

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities include:

Qualifications

Expected:

• B.Sc. or equivalent degree in the Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in similar position

Knowledge, skills and experience:

• Specific experience in Oil and Gas projects across their lifecycle in the GCC region, preferred
• Pre-FEED, FEED experience is required
• Detailed Engineering experience is preferred
