Lead Process Chemical Engineer

Wood is currently recruiting for Lead Process Chemical Engineers with experience in Specialty Chemicals and Life Sciences. This individual will join a team of process engineers designing and modifying facilities which produce chemicals, biochemicals, biofuels and pharmaceutical related industrial products.

This position will be based in Greenville, SC (preferred), Atlanta, GA, or Houston, TX. Other locations will not be considered - this is a hybrid role with a minimum three days a week in the office. No agencies please.

Responsibilities

• Lead the chemical process design on projects or a team of process engineers on larger engineering projects and provide direction and coordination to other disciplines as the process lead.
• Support project proposal efforts by developing a process scope of work and process man-hour estimate in support of the defined Client scope. Develop staffing plan and schedule to support the man-hour estimate and schedule from concept through design and start-up.
• Develop and/or oversee production of engineering reports, studies, calculations, PFD's, P&ID's, GA's, equipment specifications/data sheets, and review/approval of vendor submittals.
• Assure quality of design documents and process deliverables.
• Manage projects within budget and schedule constraints by interacting with Clients, team members and management to resolve project roadblocks.
• Provide engineering expertise to optimize process systems and implement cost reduction opportunities
• Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate system malfunctions

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years experience (Professional registration is a plus)
• Experience with Capital Projects in the Chemical Process Industries a plus
• A willingness to travel as needed
