PSR – Research Assistant

Role Overview: The PSR – Research Assistant is a key contributor to the success of the research team, reporting directly to the Research Site Manager. This role ensures smooth administrative operations, organizes critical study documents, and supports research staff by maintaining accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of study-related tasks. Flexibility and attention to detail are essential, as research workflows can vary throughout the study lifecycle. This position averages 5–20 hours per week, depending on study needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Document & File Management: Organize, maintain, and track office and study files to ensure records are current, complete, and compliant.
  • Quality Control: Review study documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper formatting before submission or filing.
  • Study Kit Preparation: Assist with assembling and preparing study test kits and other research-related materials.
  • Administrative Assistance: Provide general office support to research staff, including scanning, filing, copying, and faxing.
  • Participant & Staff Coordination: Communicate with study participants and patients to schedule, confirm, or follow up on study activities, and collaborate with study staff to ensure timely document execution and updates.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, minimize errors, and reduce rework to enhance overall team efficiency.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certificate in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of administrative or office support experience, preferably in healthcare, research or clinical settings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Critical thinking skills to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle multiple document types and maintain formatting and style guidelines.
  • Proficiency with computer software and office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive research and patient information with discretion.
