Associate Software Test Automation Engineer

As an Associate Software Test Automation Engineer, your role involves supporting our team in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will assist in developing and executing test cases, working closely with more experienced team members to learn and grow your skills in test automation. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Tosca/Playwright/Selenium
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain reusable test components and libraries.
  • Expertise in any of the tools - Tosca, Selenium, and Playwright
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth execution in various environments.
  • Perform test data management and environment setup for automated test execution.
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and work with developers to resolve issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test scripts, and test results.
  • Monitor and report on test execution metrics and quality trends.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in test automation and recommend improvements like use of AI based tools.
  • Delivering results on time.
  • Working well independently with minimal supervision while also functioning as an integral part of a team.
  • Consistently demonstrates strong team and individual performance.
  • Builds positive and effective relationships with individuals both internal and external to the organization.

Skills:

  • Basic Programming: Fundamental knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python.
  • Test Case Development: Ability to create simple test cases based on specifications.
  • Automated Testing Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Selenium or JUnit.
  • Bug Tracking: Proficiency in using bug tracking systems like JIRA.
  • Collaboration: Basic skills in working within a team environment.
  • Documentation: Ability to document test cases and defects clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for identifying discrepancies and issues.
  • Continuous Learning: Openness to learning new testing techniques and tools.
  • Requires basic knowledge of theories, principles and concepts within a technical discipline; has exposure to current technologies through coursework or internship.
  • Applies general knowledge of business and industry gained through education or experience.
  • Performs routine technical assignments and uses existing procedures to apply to technical concepts to solve standard problems.
