What You Will Do

• Perform hands-on software development, including writing code and unit tests, doing proof of concepts, conducting code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.
• Mentoring other engineers, helping to support their professional development.
• Designing and implementing innovative solutions to challenging web development problems.
• Participate in system design and specifications, development, testing, debugging, documentation, and support.
• Providing analysis of problems and recommending solutions.
• Working collaboratively with other members of the product engineering team and the wider business as required.

What You Will Need

• At least 5+ years' experience working in software development.
• Expert JavaScript and TypeScript knowledge.
• Strong experience with Node.js
• Strong experience with React
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and CSS pre-processors like SASS or LESS
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles
• Knowledge of frameworks available for NodeJS, such as Express, NestJS, Strong Loop, etc.
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Knowledge of AWS Services, particularly serverless technologies such as Lambda, DynamoDB and event-based services.
• Familiarity with version control solutions (such as GitHub), including branching, merging and pull requests.
• Experience with code reviews.
• Highly collaborative, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with any other front-end framework, like Angular or VueJS
• Experience with JavaScript task runners like Grunt, Gulp, or similar
• Experience with package managers
• Experience with Cloud services and Docker
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Previous experience working in a microservices-based architecture.
• Experience working in an Agile team environment.
• Experience working with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Understanding of security principles and best practices in software development.
