Support Worker

Join one of NZ's leading mental health organisations based in Christchurch. Extra Kiwi Saver + extra annual leave + 2 wellbeing days.

Work alongside tāngata whaiora to maintain physical, emotional & spiritual wellness.

A full-time Support Worker role in our Christchurch Housing & Recovery Service working 40 hours per week, Sunday - Thursday 3.00pm – 11.30pm. You'll be supporting people with mental health and addiction challenges.

The role includes:

  • Support medication needs while keeping an eye on physical and mental wellbeing
  • Make meaningful connections by checking in on their day, plans, and general wellbeing.
  • You might assist them with budgeting, daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, gardening, attending appointments, or advocating for them.
  • Keep the team updated on progress and any medication-related issues

  • Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

You:

  • Bring a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Might have experience in mental health and addiction services.
  • Hold the level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent). To check equivalency go to

  • Hold a full New Zealand driver's licence.
  • Hold, or are willing to obtain, a current New Zealand first aid certificate.
  • Uphold the integrity and mana of tāngata whai ora.
