Tooling Engineer Position

Position Summary: The Tooling Engineer works with teams, customers, and suppliers to make sure tooling designs meet product and manufacturing needs. They review, approve, and adjust tool and mold designs while helping with testing, troubleshooting, and improvements. The engineer serves as the main contact between customers and suppliers to ensure clear communication, on-time delivery, and problem resolution. This role requires technical skills, problem-solving, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with planning and design teams to ensure alignment of product design and tooling requirements.
  • Engage with customer design teams to review and approve all tool designs.
  • Evaluate product designs for compliance with automation principles and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Review, evaluate, and authorize tool or mold design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Recommend and implement tooling design modifications to address quality concerns and enhance process efficiency.
  • Actively participate in mold design development and provide technical support for tooling troubleshooting.
  • Represent the organization alongside customer representatives during all IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities.
  • Document all tooling design changes and communicate updates regarding tooling schedules and status.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between tooling suppliers, internal teams, and customers, including oversight of outsourced tooling projects.
  • Proactively inform customers of potential schedule delays, lead-time challenges, and risks of late deliveries.
