Heavy Duty Truck Assembler Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced technician/mechanic to join our team as a Heavy-Duty Truck Assembler Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of IMT, Fassi, Palfinger, Prentice, and PM cranes and service trucks used in various industries. Your expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems will be essential in ensuring the reliability and functionality to our fleet customers and internal pool of service trucks. Additionally, you will be tasked with conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering top-notch service.

Mechanic Job Duties:

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all types of truck bodies and associated components.
  • No engine work- work is focused on chassis mounted components.
  • Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all heavy-duty components.
  • Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department, and customers
  • Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
  • Meet requirements for certifications.
  • Administrative duties as related to position.

Desired Skills and Qualities:

  • Self-starter ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow work orders.
  • Ability to determine needed repairs for cranes and trucks.
  • Ability to disassemble cranes and keep track of parts for reassembly.
  • Ability to rebuild hydraulic cylinders.
  • Ability to rebuild PTO.
  • Ability to run and test cranes.
  • General knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of relays.
  • Electrical knowledge preferred.
  • Welding preferred.

Experience/Education:

  • Prior experience in automotive or heavy equipment assembly, mechanics, or a related field (1-3 years preferred).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Lean Methodologies preferred.
  • Experienced with all material handling equipment such as forklifts & Reach lifts.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs routinely. Occasionally lift over 50lbs.
