Senior Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking a senior principal software engineer who can architect and implement large scale projects and participate as a thought leader for the Oracle Health and Records applications. The candidate has a combination of exceptional coding, design, architectural, and communication skills and can lead multiple teams of highly experienced and similarly qualified engineers. You will need to be able to absorb new technologies and standards and apply them to the overall design of Oracle Health applications. You will work with various departments (product management, executive management, and team members from other departments) in designing and implementing whole areas of Oracle Health, with a focus on innovation using AI to transform the healthcare application experience. You must have experience developing large scale, highly scalable, cloud native enterprise software that can serve mission critical needs.

Responsibilities

Working within a highly successful cloud product organization, you will:

  • Lead a highly competent team of engineers and product managers to deliver features and functionality and architectural changes that enhance Oracle Health
  • Lead architectural review and provide feedback/guidance to the wider development team across Oracle Health
  • Understand and abide by as well as help to improve and establish new processes in development and product life cycle that can improve the entire Oracle Health application
  • Interact with support and customer to help resolve product issues
  • Help build a knowledgebase for the wider team and help evangelize best practices
  • Work in an Agile development environment with a world-wide team and participate in improving processes that enable the team to achieve higher productivity in a continuous delivery environment
  • Foster commitment to product quality and automation, including values such as scalability, performance, reliability, code health, and maintainability

Preferred Skills and Experience: We are seeking experience with the following technologies/domains:

  • Total 10+ years of software development experience of which 5+ years leading large teams of engineers and influencing architectural design across the application and enterprise in large-scale design and development of enterprise software products and cloud services focusing on development of highly scalable, highly available, multi-tenant, cloud services.
  • Experience in building Cloud services with scalability, high availability/failover, security, data transformation and configuration management.
  • Experience with API design for enterprise use cases, including API versioning.
  • Experience with ML and AI models and using ML/AI to create natural, intuitive, and intelligent services for user.
  • Technical skills in Java, Python, JSON/JSON Schema, node.js and front-end stacks and framework like react.js.
  • Familiarity with build/devops tools like Gradle, GIT, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of containers, container orchestration, networking, docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
  • Strong grasp of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architectural best practices.
  • Experience with web application development using microservices frameworks such as Helidon, Dropwizard, Spring, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects.
