Senior Mechanical Engineer

Engineering Solutions with Impact The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a technical leader and trusted advisor, guiding Engineering and Design teams to apply design standards and code requirements with precision and confidence. This role provides critical expertise to cross-functional teams, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to solve complex challenges. Partnering closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and other departments, the Sr. Engineer ensures solutions consistently meet customer specifications, drive project success, and uphold the highest standards of quality and innovation.

What Success Looks Like

Harness computer-assisted engineering and design software to deliver precise, standards-compliant solutions. Provide hands-on support across drafting, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, installation, and customer service-troubleshooting GFS equipment with confidence. Lead or contribute to multi-discipline product development and corrective action teams, tackling cost, quality, and delivery challenges head-on. Offer expert phone and on-site support for installations and start-ups, partnering with project management and customer service teams. Resolve technical questions and ensure strict adherence to code and engineering standards. Drive research and development efforts to value-engineer existing products and bring innovative new solutions to market. Own complex assignments while mentoring and inspiring junior engineers to grow their skills. Streamline processes and procedures to boost accuracy, quality, and speed of engineering deliverables. Lead technical reviews at every project phase, from proposal through production release. Analyze airflow, heating, lighting, and mechanical systems to optimize performance. Design and propose solutions that fully comply with IBC, IFC, and NFPA code requirements.

Qualifications That Shine

Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering or related field with 8-17 years of experience, Master\'s Degree with 6-15 years, or Associate Degree with 15+ years of experience. Proven subject matter expertise in core products, technologies, and engineering standards. Demonstrated ability to mentor, grow, and develop team members. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex, challenging issues independently. Experienced in leading and facilitating cross-functional initiatives. Skilled at developing and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and quality. Capable of planning and managing medium- to large-scope engineering projects successfully.
