Quality Systems Engineer I

What you will do:

  • Provide technical expertise for product quality, material performance, and process issues
  • Conduct product and process performance evaluations to identify improvement opportunities
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) initiatives
  • Lead or assist with variability-reduction and process-optimization projects
  • Perform quality audits, capability studies, and site surveys
  • Analyze inspection and production data to promote continuous improvement
  • Develop and deliver training on quality tools, procedures, and standards
  • Enter, maintain, and verify data in AS-400, JDE, and related internal systems
  • Develop and route Can Standard Change Requests (CSCRs)
  • Maintain manufacturing standards, including A-Section procedures, PCPs, Double Seam Guides, and more
  • Prepare and distribute manufacturing and lithography standards
  • Maintain quality records, customer complaint documentation, and department files
  • Train employees on documentation requirements and Silgan standards systems
  • Apply all safety procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment
  • Support engineering, operations, and plant teams with quality-related projects
  • Contribute to cross-functional problem solving and data-driven decision making
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to ensure quality and manufacturing excellence

What you need to have:

High school diploma required; Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s degree preferred

1-3 years of quality, manufacturing, or production experience

Proficiency with AS-400, JDE, and Microsoft Office Suite

Understanding of SPC methods and basic statistics
