Konecranes is looking for a talented individual to design cranes, material handling equipment, and other devices in Solidworks. The ideal candidate will work in a structured 3-D environment, sharing models between engineers. The role requires designing mechanical drive systems, performing initial sizing calculations, and precisely following customer specifications and industry codes. Proper annotation of drawings and development of Bills of Materials (BOM) are also part of the job. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with other disciplines and provide phone support and technical assistance. Optimization of bridge girders, trolleys, and other crane components is also expected.

Job qualifications include self-motivation, leadership abilities, knowledge of ASME, AISC, and CMAA, a minimum of a Bachelor in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering, and a minimum of five years of related experience. Computer literacy in Excel and Word is required, and knowledge of Solidworks or Pro-E is a must. Domestic and international travel, including entrance to nuclear power plants, is necessary.
