Job Description:
Summary: Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in manufacturing plant by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Reads blueprints and job order for specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
- Develops routings, methods and time standards for production job orders.
- Designs work holding fixtures for machining, welding and or fabrication.
- Confers with tool manufacturing representatives to ensure proper usage of tooling and efficient production methods.
- Analyzes drawings, sketches and design data of part to determine fixturing requirements, dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Outlines sequence of operations required to fabricate part.
- Creates flat layout geometry from formed drawing views to be used for laser programming.
- Organizes and maintains storage of all digital drawing files.
- Management of capital projects under general supervision; plans, conducts and supervises assignments normally involving several smaller or less important projects or one major project.
- Maintains liaison with manufacturing and sales.
- Reviews progress and evaluates results; makes changes in methods design or equipment when necessary.
