Forklift Mechanic Position

Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to help maintain and repair essential warehouse equipment, ensuring smooth operations in our fast-paced cold storage environment.

Position Overview

As an Forklift Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a diverse range of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, turrets, aerial lifts, and more. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulic systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to cross-train in other maintenance areas to expand your skill set.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on MHE such as forklifts, pallet jacks, turrets, and aerial lifts.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Maintain accurate service records, documenting repairs and parts usage.
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairs of other facility equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to improve efficiency and minimize operational disruptions.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Previous experience in forklift maintenance, automotive, diesel, or industrial maintenance preferred.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Certifications: OSHA, forklift certification, or related technical training is a plus.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in cold storage environments, and operate tools/equipment safely.
