Job Summary: The Lead Medical Assistant is a healthcare professional who is an essential member of the patient-centered health care team. This individual is responsible for assisting the manager/supervisor with daily operations, which include staff assignments and acting as a resource for the patients, providers and support staff in the absence of the manager/supervisor. The Lead MA can also be responsible for assisting with new employee on-boarding and orientation as well as ongoing training for all medical assistants. This individual will act as a liaison to the manager/supervisor regarding issues resolution. The Lead MA will also be expected to perform all tasks of a MA and MA Senior.
Experience Description:
1 year of experience as medical assistant or in the field of the credential held is required.
2 years of experience in designated specialty and/or other ambulatory setting preferred.
Education Description:
HS Diploma or GED is required.
Licensure Description:
One of the following is required:
If hired as a Lead prior to 1/1/26, have 6 months to obtain one of the certifications/licenses listed above.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
