Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will provide essential HR support to our dynamic manufacturing plant. This on-site role involves executing administrative tasks, supporting recruitment and employee relations, and offering guidance to plant leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and independent, with prior HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee files, including filing new paperwork and retrieving documents as requested.
  • Read, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing HR mail, responding to or forwarding correspondence related to benefits and inquiries.
  • Administer the employee recognition program by selecting winners, posting announcements, distributing gift cards, and managing inventory for rewards.
  • Support administrative work related to leaves of absence, workers' compensation, and accommodations, escalating matters as needed and assisting managers with questions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees' questions regarding site-specific HR policies and procedures.
  • Educate and guide employees on submitting inquiries through the HR Connect system.
  • Help resolve basic employee issues and direct complex matters to appropriate resources.
  • Support plant leadership by answering HR policy questions and ensuring consistent application.
  • Assist with training managers and employees in self-service process rollouts.
  • Mediate workplace issues and coach supervisors on best practices for employee documentation.
  • Support frontline leadership development by hosting regular training sessions.
  • Assist the hiring process by managing internal job postings and coordinating with candidates.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation laws.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems such as Workday and strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and delivering frontline leadership training is strongly preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is based on-site at our manufacturing plant, working Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. The role involves interaction with shift-based employees and requires spending time on the factory floor.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Delavan, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
